Thousands rally in New York over Trump government, ICE agent shooting
The rally began near Central Park, where participants carried placards condemning mass deportations and recent U.S. military actions in Venezuela. The march later moved down Fifth Avenue to Trump Tower, where traffic was blocked as protesters chanted, “Hey, hey, ho, ho, Donald Trump has got to go!”
Signs carried by participants included slogans such as “Don’t Tread on N.Y.C.,” “Melt ICE,” and “Went to Sleep in 2025, Woke Up in 1984.” One protester directed anger at Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem with a sign reading, “Deport Kristi Noem Back to Hell,” criticizing her defense of the ICE agent involved in Good’s death.
The demonstrations were not limited to New York. Protests spread across the country, with gatherings reported in Orlando, Pittsburgh, and Lexington, Kentucky—traditionally a stronghold for Trump. In Lexington, crowds filled the courthouse square with flags and banners, while in Tennessee, groups marched nearly a mile in solidarity.
The unrest follows intensified immigration raids ordered by the Trump administration, particularly in Minnesota, where ICE officer Jonathan Ross shot and killed Good. The incident has fueled widespread anger and mobilized activists nationwide.
