Body of Former Russian Deputy Justice Minister Was Found in Moscow

(MENAFN) Former Russian Deputy Justice Minister Sergei Tropin was found dead in an apartment in western Moscow, with authorities reporting no signs of a violent death, according to reports.

Emergency officials said Tropin’s body was discovered in the bathroom of the apartment. “There are no signs of foul play. The cause of death is being determined,” a source told reports, as authorities launched an inquiry to determine the circumstances.

Tropin served as Russia’s deputy minister of justice from 1996 to 1997, a period during which he oversaw various legal and administrative reforms within the ministry. His death comes decades after his tenure, and while the cause remains under investigation, early reports suggest there were no indications of external involvement.
