Government Committee Advances Integration of Armed Group in Iraq
In a statement released through a news agency the command confirmed that the committee continues its mission in accordance with the government program endorsed by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and ratified by parliament.
The statement highlighted that Lt. Gen. Qais al-Muhammadawi, who heads the committee, oversaw the transfer of all documentation and records concerning staff, arms, equipment, and vehicles previously managed by the Imam Ali Brigades. This process took place under the supervision of committee members and leaders of the brigade.
According to the command, this measure is designed to facilitate the completion of integration and restructuring initiatives, which include dissolving separate organizational identities and formations.
The statement emphasized that the move is part of ongoing governmental efforts “to strengthen stability, reinforce the rule of law and ensure that weapons and armed formations remain under the authority of the state and official security institutions.”
