Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu Meets with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi

On August 17, 2026, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met in Beijing with visiting Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi.

Kazem Gharibabadi briefed the Chinese side on the latest developments in the Gulf situation and Iran’s position. He noted that over the 55 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, and particularly in the decade since the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership, Iran and China have maintained close communication and coordination on major international and regional issues. Iran looks forward to deepening cooperation in various fields with China and advancing the development of bilateral relations.
